They oversee the end to end creative process from brainstorming and pitching to final execution, ensuring alingnment with commercial goals.

Account director – Is a senior-level marketing or advertising professional who manages key client relationships, ensures account profitability, and drives business growth. They oversee campaigns, develop strategies, and lead account teams, often acting as the primary senior contact.

Senior director – Is a high-ranking executive-level manager responsible for leading entire departments, large teams or significant portfolios, often bridging the gap between tactical directors and the c-suite. They focus on strategic execution, budgeting control, and operational efficiency.

Davy Denduyver is an independent art director and graphic designer from Belgium who focuses on branding, visual identity, music, and merchandise. His approach came from his love of music and hardcore/punk. He applies this is in a lot of the work he does. He made his first design project when he was 17, which was a magazine that he sold at shows.

The impact he has is that he believes all projects should be concept-driven, that have long-lasting, collaborative efforts that should push progress within their fields. He focuses on creating a visual language, experimenting with colours, fonts, and basic compositions which allows people of many age groups and nationalities to enjoy his work. This could also inspire them to start design projects themselves, as Davy doesn’t apply what he learnt in school to his projects, except the magazine he did at 17.

Art direction is an important creative role in contemporary design practice because they review and provide feedback on the work of other artists/designers and make sure that the designs effectively communicate the desired message that the artists/designers want to give. They oversee the visual aspects of a project and develop concepts and artistic styles with their clients.

They have strong leadership skills which are useful for guiding and inspiring their team of designers. An art director plays a vital role in bringing projects to life. Their artistic vision and the ability to collaborate and translate client objectives into visual designs make them a crucial asset in the industry.

The branding and advertising campaigns can change perception and create impact by inspiring people to create their own work, if they like what they see, they may end up looking into the artist/designer, and the company they’re working for, which would give both the artist and the company a huge boost.
