Telling the story of the Participatory Collective

The participatory collective is an organisation who are facing local and global issues of social injustice in society. They want everyone to come together to create change to allow people to live fulfilling and flourishing lives. However, they don’t have the funding for this to happen, so funding has to come from elsewhere, such as universities or other organisations, so that the participatory collective can become what is aims to be. There is a catch to this however, the academics/other organisations will often make the decision on what the project should be.

Also the funding may be rushed, so the academics or other organisations won’t have much time to complete the necessary paperwork that is needed to apply for the funding.

The participatory collective wants to create a virtual space for people to come together from the ideas fund and other projects in Hull to build a movement to enable communities to flourish and grow together. They will also allow their PC to be used by groups, individuals, and organisations so that they can learn from others and gain support so that they will be able to engage well and involve people in collaboration.

The participatory collective’s mission is to build solidarity in a movement that will decide and do things differently. They want to work towards shifting power, changing systems and cultures that are not already meeting the needs that they have in place.
