Typography and colour planning

I tried out many different fonts and styles for my website and mobile app, but confidently landed on using Inknut Antiqua for both. I feel like this font works really well with my chosen festival and my colour scheme. It brings it all together and makes the text stand out. I made the text several colours and a couple of sizes as I wanted it to stand out and look professional.

I also went through so many colours for my colour scheme, trying to decide which 3 colours would work best. At first I wanted to use blue, black and green, as a lot of punk rock bands use these colours but as I tried it out it didn’t look the best. As I was making a website and app for a punk rock festival, I ultimately decided on hot pink, black, and white, which worked out really well in my opinion. Hot pink and white are also commonly used in punk rock so that’s how made up my mind on the colours.

I played around with the colours a lot, trying to find the best place for them to go without them clashing with each other. Making the background with those 3 colours was quite difficult as I had a lot of space and a limited number of colours. I eventually decided on a hot pink background with black and white splotches with black stars which I then stretched out to make them look funky. This turned out well on my first attempt so I kept it and tried it out with the website first, which looked great so I tried it on the mobile app. It didn’t work out quite as well as it did with the website but I wanted to keep both the website and app looking the same so I just went for it.

Overall, I think the chosen colours work really well together as well as the font. It makes everything stand out and look bright and enticing. The typography just pulls everything together and the colours should bring users in and make them interested in what the website/app is about.
